What do you prefer to use for cellulite at LipoTherapeia: radiofrequency or cavitation ?

“I have worked extensively with both RF and ultrasound cavitation for 14+ years and indeed RF is better for skin laxity or skin laxity and cellulite and cavitation is mainly for cellulite. However, ultrasound is not better than RF and also ultrasound can also be used for skin tightening sometimes. So the usual rules generally apply but not fully - and myths do persist.”

Radiofrequency vs ultrasonic cavitation for cellulite: what is best?

What do you suggest for cellulite reduction at your clinic: cavitation or radiofrequency?

At LipoTherapeia, we address cellulite using deep-acting, high-power radiofrequency and deep-acting, high-power ultrasound cavitation, i.e. the two most effective and safe methods available for reducing cellulite. Additionally, we enhance these treatments with high-intensity LED phototherapy to optimise results in a natural way.

We typically use:

  • Radiofrequency-only when cellulite is combined with skin laxity (most common)

  • And ultrasound cavitation-only when skin laxity is not a concern (less common)

So in many cases we use a mix of those technologies - but in all cases we now combine RF and/or cavitation with high-power LED red/infrared light therapy, as it provenly enhances the results of RF and cavitation.

Of course, every body is different and there are many considerations on:

  • Whether to use ultrasound or radiofrequency

  • What mix of the two to use

  • With what intensities and at what depth

These considerations depend on:

  • The volume of subcutaneous adipose tissue

  • The extent of water retention

  • The extent of skin laxity

  • Whether cellulite is deep or superficial

  • Individual sensitivities to either technology

Generally speaking the following rules apply (but with exceptions):

  • Cellulite + Skin laxity = Radiofrequency

  • Cellulite + Firm skin = Ultrasound

For skin tightening only, radiofrequency is the obvious way to go, as strong, deep tissue radiofrequency is the best SAFE skin tightening technology that really works. Sometimes, however, cavitation can also be used for skin tightening, if done correctly.

LipoTherapeia® Plus: Have a skin tightening/cellulite treatment with London’s cellulite experts

At LipoTherapeia we have specialised 100% in skin tightening and cellulite reduction for more than a quarter of a century and 24,000+ sessions.

This is all we study and practise every day and have researched and tried hands-on all the important skin tightening equipment and their manufacturers.

As strong, deep acting radiofrequency and deep-acting, high-power ultrasound cavitation are the technologies of choice for skin tightening and cellulite reduction, we have invested in the best RF/ultrasound technologies in the world.

(Of course, we keep looking for new technologies every day and if/when a better technology materialises we will be the first to provide it. However, we will never follow the latest ineffective gimmick, just because it’s good marketing to offer the latest hyped up - yet ineffective and/or unsafe treatment.)

Furthermore, over the last two decades we have developed advanced RF and cavitation treatment protocols in order to make the most of our technologies, for maximum results, naturally and safely.

And for even better, faster results, we now combine our RF/ultrasound treatments with high-power red/infrared light LED treatment.

Our radiofrequency/ultrasound/LED treatments are comfortable, pain-free, downtime-free, injection-free, 99.5%+ safe and always non-invasive.

(No unsafe and ineffective RF microneedling or HIFU and no safe but ineffective acoustic wave therapy, superficial RF (bipolar/tripolar/multipolar etc), low power RF/cavitation, electrical muscle stimulation, lymphatic massage, cupping, dry brushing and no ridiculous bum bum creams.)

Our focus is on honest, realistic, science-based treatment, combined with caring, professional service, with a smile.

We will be pleased to see you, assess your cellulite, skin laxity or fibrosis, listen to your story, discuss your case and offer you the best possible treatment.
