Cellulite reduction after bodytite lipo

You’re not the only one - skin looseness and more visible cellulite is the result in 95% of the cases after bodytite liposuction. So after bodytite lipo there is a real need for skin tightening and cellulite reduction.
(That is, if you care about cellulite, of course. Not everyone cares about smooth skin and that is absolutely fine.)
As bodytite removes fat that used to occupy extra volume under the skin, and as excess skin was generated by your body to accommodate that volume, after losing the fat volume with bodytite you are left with excess skin, which looks loose and thin.
Likewise, cellulite does not increase after bodytite, it just becomes more evident as skin becomes less stretched, allowing the collagen bands under the skin surface to pull the skin deeper than when it used to be taut due to the fat volume.
In theory, radiofrequency/bodytite lipo is supposed to tighten the skin by burning it from inside with a radiofrequency cannula tip. However, the effect is short-lived, lasting up to a year at most and the tightening is not true skin tightening, it is skin hardening (after these procedures your skin feels unnaturally hard and rigid, not naturally tight and elastic).
As a result, this tissue gradually breaks down over about 12 months, leaving skin loose. On the other hand, if this skin hardening / scar tissue-ing is too extreme it results in scar tissue bumps and/or adhesions, which inhibit movement, cause pain and give a feeling of pulling when moving.
The exact same things apply to cellutite, a procedure when the bodytite radiofrequency cannula is used to literally burn the hypodermis from inside, and thereby theoretically “get rid of cellulite”. Burning tissue is never a good idea, as the scar tissue collagen produced is not healthy functional collagen. Plus the cellulite structure is too complicated to be smoothen by “carpet bombing” with a radiofrequency tip.
(On the other hand, the scar tissue bumps quite often caused by bodytite and cellutite can last for years - a recent client we saw still had scar tissue 10 years after bodytite.)
Furthermore, sometimes the continuous poking and scraping of the radiofrequency liposuction cannula in the subcutaneous tissue and intermediate fascia under the skin undermines the integrity of the tissues and also creates scar tissue, leading to fatty or bumps and cellulite.
(Of course, radiofrequency assisted liposuction only removes subcutaneous fat, i.e. fat UNDER the skin, not cellulite which is fat INSIDE the skin.)
There is no magical non-surgical solution to removing local fat accumulation (almost all don’t work) and liposuction (bodytite or not) remains the gold standard for fat removal. However, bodytite does leave behind loose skin and cellulite.
