  • And of course don’t do silly things like dry brushing, coffee bean scrubbing and the like

The perfect cellulite reduction regime: how to effectively and realistically reduce cellulite and tighten your skin in 45-90 days

Here is the IDEAL cellulite removal plan, without any cut corners or compromises, i.e. where the usual time and money constraints are not issue.

Most people only:

  • have two weeks left before their holidays to do something about cellulite

  • a limited budget (fair enough)

  • limited time to receive treatments during the week or to apply creams during the day

  • and little intention, energy or time to follow an exercise / healthy nutrition regime

But for those who don’t leave it until the last minute and who have the time, money and energy, this is the best possible plan, without gimmicks or compromises.

Follow a 6-12 week plan (12 weeks ideally, and definitely not 2 weeks)

With a two-week plan, just about when you start achieving something, you end the plan and as a result, you will not achieve anything long-lasting. All two-week plans, no matter how expensive, are ineffective temporary gimmicks.

If cellulite took months, years or decades to reach its current status, it is naive to believe it will be effectively reduced long-term with a two-week gimmick.

And it is also worth it to wait for after your holidays to embark on a proper 6-12 cellulite regime - you waited years to do something about it, don’t ruin it, wasting time and money or silly instant gimmicks.

Six to twelve weeks is a reasonable time frame for a concerted effort to give long-term results.

Have a course of 12 deep-acting, high-power radiofrequency and/or high-power ultrasound cavitation treatments

The combination is THE strongest SAFE treatment for cellulite reduction and skin tightening.

If possible, have the longest possible treatment duration per area too, for maximum results (i.e. if you can choose between 40’ and 60’ for a given body area, go for 60’).

Aim for one or two sessions per week, leaving a minimum of 2 full days and a maximum of 15 days between treatments. With once-a-week treatment the course will end in 12 weeks.

Stir clear of miracle treatments that promise “amazing transformations” in 1-4 sessions: nothing will happen and you may get injured/burned, by the “amazing instant miracle treatment”. If those 1-4 session miracle treatments worked, no-one would have cellulite or loose skin.

Also, don’t bother with monthly treatments, as anything that is not repeated every two weeks or more frequently, is only good for maintenance, not improvement.

Finally, stir clear of low-power, superficial RF/cavitation (the vast majority of RF/cavitation treatments on the market), as these are usually safe but a waste of money.

Follow a strict, healthy nutrition regime…

based on:

  • no sugar

  • no alcohol

  • no fried food or trans fats

  • no foods stored in tins, cans or other BPA/endocrine-disrupting plastic lined containers

  • low carbs

  • low saturated fat

  • high intake of lean protein

  • lots of omega-3 fish oil / oily fish / vegan fish oil

  • lots of vegetables, salads, herbs and spices

  • drinking 2-3 litres of water a day (no more though)

If you are planning to lose any weight, lose it during those 6-12 weeks that you are receiving treatments - this will maximise the results of your treatments.

Have daily vegetable smoothies/juices and berry smoothies

Replace some of your food with berry smoothies, vegetable smoothies and vegetable juices (no carrots, apples or beetroots).

No other juices or smoothies of any kind please. The idea is to get maximum polyphenols and carotenoids with minimum sugars, even natural sugars.

Have daily hot and cold showers (contrast showers)

In the winter you can have contrast showers only on the areas with cellulite. In the summer you can do whole body contrast showers, if you wish.

If not sure you are fit for this, consult with doctor first or just don’t do it.

Aim to exercise 3-5 times per week

Any exercise that brings your heart rate / breathing rate up is great:

  • a HIIT class (3 times a week is perfect, no more)

  • interval running / swimming / rowing / cycling etc (3 times a week is perfect, no more)

  • steady state running / swimming / rowing / cycling etc

  • uphill walking

  • fast walking

  • hardcore pilates / yoga classes (don’t expect results from “fluffy” yoga or pilates - if it doesn’t raise your heart rate, it doesn’t work)

  • you can do some resistance training twice a week, but focus more on HIIT / interval / other high intensity CV training

Also aim to walk a lot daily, in addition to exercise.

If unsure you are fit for this, consult with doctor first or just don’t do it.

BTW, “cellulite exercises” or “skin tightening exercises” for specific body parts don’t work. Don’t be taken for a fool.

Have a collagen or vegan collagen powder, 10-20 grams daily

Collagen powders do help strengthen the skin, if you take them for more than a couple of months.

The difference between normal whey / egg / vegan protein powders and collagen protein powders are the three aminoacids which are found in higher amounts in collagen: proline, glycine and, especially, hydroxyproline.

These days vegan protein powders do contain high amounts of these aminoacids and they are quite rightly designated “vegan” collagen powders. They are great and they are almost as good as the non-vegaln version.

Alternatively, you can have your usual whey, egg or vegan protein powder, 20-40 grams a day. Or do a mix of the two.

You may also add some high-flavanol cocoa and high-curcumin turmeric in your collagen protein shake, to get some extra polyphenols.

Don’t bother with collagen capsules or liquids, as they usually contain too little collagen and/or are too expensive. With protein you need quantity, hence the recommendation for powders.

If possible have the following supplements: centella asiatica, curcumin, EGCG, green coffee extract, pine bark, flavonoids, vitamin C

These polyphenols have an anti-cellulite, skin firming, antioxidant, anti-glycation, anti-fibrotic, anti-inflammatory and circulation boosting action, i.e. they help with all seven aspects of cellulite.

Always consult your doctor or healthcare practitioner first before taking supplements.

Apply daily a cellulite / skin firming cream rich in the above active molecules, plus caffeine and forskolin, the most important lipolytic actives

Just make sure your cellulite creams contain high concentrations of high purity actives (almost all “cellulite creams” contain low concentrations of low purity irrelevant actives - or even no actives at all).

Also make sure you apply the creams once or twice a day - obviously applying them once in a few days will not work.

And of course don’t do silly things like dry brushing, coffee bean scrubbing…

… and wearing anti-cellulite garments with caffeine (😂) or infrared-emitting crystals (😂😂) which don’t have a chance in hell in ever reducing cellulite
