Inonotus Obliquus (Chaga mushroom) extract stimulates the creation of new fat cells

  • Extract of Chaga mushroom (Inonotus Obliquus) as a potential breast-enhancing cream ingredient
  • A team of researchers at Daegu University in Korea have identified that a water extract of the medicinal mushroom Inonotus Obliquus, stimulates the differentiation (= transformation) of pre-adipocytes (immature fat cells) into fully matured adipocytes (mature fat cells).
  • All adipocytes descend from stem cells aptly called pre-adipocytes, cells that are one step before full fat cell status. Certain herbal substances, drugs and hormones trigger the transformation or proliferation of those pre-fat cells into full, fat-accumulating fat cells, and Chaga mushroom extract has been found to be one of them.
  • Specifically, Chaga mushroom stimulates this differentiation process via the so called PPAR-gamma pathway. PPAR-gamma is the most important adipogenic (= fat growth-stimulating) cell protein. Even in complete absence of insulin, the most potent adipogenic hormone, Chaga mushroom induced adipogenesis in pre-adipocytes and increased fat accumulation in them, stimulating their transformation into proper adipocytes.
