Cauliflower is so 2019 darling…

Cauliflower - the fashionable vegetable in 2019

Cauliflower is supposed to be the latest “superfood” hype and a must for Instagram in 2019, so why not jump in the bandwagon with some nice green and white freshly steamed romanesco cauliflower and cauliflower buds?

BTW, did you know that the edible part of cauliflower is, well, a flower?

And did you know that cauliflower, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, collard greens and kale, are all the same plant species, Brassica oleracea, with all these the different veggies being just different cultivars?

Also, the shape of the romanesco cauliflower in the middle is a fractal, whereby every branch is similar to the entire cauliflower. The angle between branches as they become more distant from the centre, is 360 degrees divided by the golden ratio. Who would have thought?

Just some geeky facts about cauliflower.

The secret life of a fat cell

The secret life of fat cells

Did you know that fat cells live 10 years on average?

But they can also be driven to early death by dieting, several herbal extracts, and treatments such as radiofrequency or ultrasound.

When a fat cell dies, a new one takes its place, if you keep your current lifestyle.

If you eat and drink too much or if you are sedentary, fat cell number - not only their size - increases.

As fat cells expand in size or numbers, they break down collagen tissue around them. The result is skin looseness.

If you eat very healthily and exercise a lot, fat cell number will *gradually* decrease, as in that case they are not all replaced.

Some interesting facts about the life of fat cells...

“Banish cellulite in one session”. “And results will keep lasting for months”. Yeah, sure…

Banish cellulite in one session

The virtual reality

So deluded aesthetic practitioners go on prime time TV and not only claim they can “banish” cellulite in one session with a puny low-spec machine and practically zero knowledge, they have the nerve to say that hundreds of honest clinics and practitioners who responsibly say that a course of 5, 10, even 15 sessions are needed for good results, are dishonest.

I am astounded...

And not only that, they have the audacity to display their fraudulent “before and after” pictures on prime time TV.

There is indeed no justice in this world, especially when such people take advantage of naive and vulnerable young women with claims of miracles.

Anyone could make such claims and if they are manipulative enough they will be believed.

But when you promise one-session miracles to millions of viewers and get 150 calls the next day, you don’t just lie to a camera, you lie to 150 actual human beings on the phone and then another 150 times at the clinic.

And what do you say to these 150 clients one month later, when they come to see you for the second “miracle” treatment and their cellulite is identical to what it was before? Another 150 lies? When does the lying stop?

Sounds like a great way to build your reputation on the shallow, the naive and the vulnerable.

I am lost for words...

The real reality

For the record, cellulite cannot be “banished” with ANY treatment on this planet, it can only be reduced.

And one treatment is NEVER needed - even with the absolute best technology in the world, 5-10-15 sessions are needed for good results.

And there is no permanent “cure”, with ANY method - if you sit down too much, eat too much, smoke too much and drink too much, cellulite will come back.

These are the facts on the ground, in the real world, away from low end beauty journalism, Z-list celebrity endorsements and daytime TV.

As I said previously, the laws of biology in your legs do not care about Z-lister endorsement or fake “before and after photos”.

Black/purple carbs: the best carbs you can possibly eat

Purple potatoes: the best potatoes you can eat

If you are going to have carbs, black carbs are the best carbs possible

And I don’t suggest here to eat hipster charcoal crackers or burned toast - which is actually carcinogenic

I mean purple/black rice or purple/black potatoes, such as the ones pictured

Purple potatoes have a high amount of antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-adipogenic, blood vessel supporting, collagen preserving and cellulite fighting polyphenols, to offset some of the negative effects of starch (carbs) in them

Far better than plain potatoes or - God forbid 😀 - white bread

Just cook them lightly, add loads of veggies, some herbs, a bit of olive oil and some protein and, hey presto, you have a nutritious, high-antioxidant meal, without feeling guilty about the carbs

Eating breakfast doesn’t help you lose weight

Breakfast doesn't make you slimmer

A study published last week dispelled the urban myth that eating breakfast can help you lose weight or that skipping breakfast makes you put on weight

Scientists have looked at 13 controlled trials from over the past 28 years, and after analysing the data they found that those who eat breakfast were found to have a higher energy consumption during the day (260 more calories) but they also weighed almost half a kilogram more (0.44kg) compared to non-breakfast eaters.

So basically, if you eat more, you will weigh more - the increase in metabolism doesn’t help you.

Furthermore, the scientists have found that having breakfast does not reduce appetite during the day, as previously thought.

Personally, being a night owl, not in favour of eggs, sausages or cafe latte and seriously hating porridge, I prefer to skip breakfast in order to have a tastier meal later.

So I believe that this “breakfast makes you lose weight” thing is a just conspiracy by morning birds to make everyone who does not share their morning enthusiasm feel guilty :)

"Currently, the available evidence does not support modifying diets in adults to include the consumption of breakfast as a good strategy to lose weight," wrote authors of the study. “Although eating breakfast regularly could have other important effects, caution is needed when recommending breakfast for weight loss in adults, as it may have the opposite effect."

It’s official: fried food kills you

Fried food kills

In a large study on 107,000 women in the US, published last week, it was found that having fried food once a week increases your risk of death by 8%. If you eat fried chicken, that risk goes up to 13%, while if you eat fried fish the risk of death is +7%.

Obviously more frequent consumption, e.g. two to three times a week, has a more pronounced effect.

As cardiovascular mortality in this study was identical to all risk mortality, it is obvious that fried food kills by affecting specifically your heart and blood vessels.

The good news is that fried food does not seem to increase the risk of death from cancer.

So my suggestion is grill, poach, boil, steam or roast your food, and only fry very occasional and only with a quality extra virgin olive oil, which contains protective antioxidants.

And only use the oil to fry once (using the oil once becomes very expensive, which will probably ensure that fried food is a treat, instead of a daily occurrence).

Needless to say, that fried food does not only cause damage to the blood vessels in your skin too, but also to the skin itself and literally every cell in your body, via a process called lipid peroxidation, which in turn also leads to inflammation.

Cellulite (via free radical damage, inflammation, blood vessel damage, excess calories) is another side effect of frying your food, as is acne, due to lipid peroxidation/inflammation.

And of course, fried food contributes to weight gain due to the excess calories that oil/fat contains (9 calories per gram).

And no, cooking with coconut oil, an oil with a very low smoke point, is not a good idea at all. But that’s a point for another post...

Obesity is not glamorous, just like anorexia is not glamorous. Let’s get real.

Obesity is a cause cancer

I saw this poster by Cancer Research UK in the Tube the other day.

Obesity does not just cause cancer, but also heart disease, diabetes and arthritis, among other conditions, as well as chronic low grade inflammation.

So I really do not understand the glamorisation of obesity by social media in the last few years.

In addition, major high fashion magazines adorn their covers with obese models (albeit sneakily photoshopped to the most minute detail to make obesity look desirable).

Totally agree, the “heroin look” those magazines adopted for twenty years was horrible, but are they now trying to absolve their guilt by advocating obesity in the place of anorexia?

Anorexia is indeed terrible, but how do we cure it by jumping onto the other extreme? What ever happened to balance?

And yes, we should all judge a person by the content of their character, not by their fat levels, skin colour, sexual preference, nationality etc. Obviously. But there is a big difference between this and glamorising obesity.

We should indeed love and accept our bodies, no matter how imperfect, but “love your (excess) fat”? Why love a cause of cancer, diabetes, heart disease and chronic, low grade inflammation?

We should love our body if it is obese, but at the same time try to change it to a healthier, perhaps just curvy, but not obese, body, just for the sake of living a healthier life.

Simple common sense, which unfortunately has been lost today in our shallow social media and endless social media “campaigns”...

What to eat when you receive a cellulite treatment

Do not have carbs or fat on the day you receive a cellulite treatment

Did you know that to maximise the results of any cellulite reduction session you should not have any carbs, fat, alcohol or sugar on that day?

Ideally you should also exercise that day too, if possible, to burn the aft released from the treatment

This is to ensure fat release from fat cells is maximised

Eating the above type of foods or having alcohol will inhibit fat release and therefore the effectiveness of any cellulite treatment

A balanced diet the rest of the time is fine, but on the day you must be super-strict

Cellulite: poor circulation vs fat accumulation

Cellulite: poor circulation and lymphatic drainage vs fat accumulation on the skin

In this picture you can clearly see how cellulite is both a circulation issue and a fat accumulation issue (as well as a fibrosis issue on some aspects of the skin and a skin laxity issue on some other aspects).

On the picture, taken after a client’s first cellulite treatment, you can see how the enlarged fat globules (white bumpy bits) suffer from poor circulation, while the areas between them enjoy rich circulation after the treatment.

With consecutive sessions fat in the adipose globules is reduced and circulation is increased for a more uniform colour and appearance.

Skin also becomes tighter and fibrosis gradually breaks down, for a firmer, smoother look.

The two major differences between lasers and monopolar radiofrequency

Lasers vs monopolar radiofrequency for skin tightening

1. Lasers heat dark or black skin much more than white or lighter skin

This means that in many cases lasers cannot be used for dark skins or their effect is greatly diminished. On the other hand, monopolar radiofrequency is colour-blind - it works equally well on ANY skin colour, as it is not light-based (it is electrical current-based).

2. Lasers are by definition superficial

Laser is a special type of light, and as with all light, most of it is absorbed in the very first few millimetres of skin. So in order to affect deep skin layers with lasers, you must first burn the epidermis - which of course is not an option. On the other hand monopolar radiofrequency is based on electrical currents that do not affect the surface of the skin but actually work on the deep skin layers, for deep skin tightening, lifting and cellulite reduction.

Because lasers are very superficial they are ineffective in body skin tightening and cellulite reduction, as compared to monopolar radiofrequency.

As facial skin is much thinner than body skin, lasers do have some application in facial skin tightening, but still monopoly radiofrequency is much more focused on the deep skin layers, does not cause any epidermal irritation and can be used on any skin, even very dark skin.

So for cellulite, skin tightening and lifting, both on face and body, monopolar radiofrequency makes much more sense.

You may have noticed here that I have specifically mentioned monopolar radiofrequency. This is because the other main type of radiofrequency, bipolar RF, is very superficial and does not really affect the deep skin layers, for real skin tightening and lifting.

PDO threads vs. high intensity monopolar radiofrequency: Which is best for non-surgical face lifting?

PDO thread lift vs high intensity monopolar radiofrequency

When done by a very experienced practitioner PDO facial threads can offer instant lift on the face in a relatively safe, minimally invasive way. Results last a few months and then the treatment must be repeated.

In less experienced hands PDO threads can lead to (hopefully temporary) disfigurement. So choose a highly qualified therapist for a better result and for safety.

However, the main issue with PDO threads is not safety, it is the fact that they do NOTHING to change the quality of the skin itself. PDO threads don’t increase collagen or elastin content of the skin, neither do they help skin thicken and firm. The thin, loose, aged skin just gets lifted by the scaffolding action of the threads underneath, but the skin itself remains aged, loose and thin.

In contrast, high intensity monopolar radiofrequency may take some sessions to work, but it actually stimulates the synthesis of elastin and collagen and leads to thicker, naturally tightened, younger looking, glowing skin.

It is 99.6% safe, the only side effect being very temporary irritation in 0.4% of treatments offered, and results last 18 months or more.

So what is best?

It all comes down to whether you want an instant (but quite often artificial-looking) lift without improving the quality of the skin itself. Or whether you want a more slow acting (but 100% natural-looking) lift which actually improves skin quality per se.

Of course, you could always combine both, but if budget is an issue, you must choose. Life is all about choices. Make the right one for you!

Did you know that fat expands by breaking down the collagen tissue around it?

Fat breaks down your collagen when it expands

In order for fat tissue to create more space in your body to accommodate the extra calories you consumed during Christmas, it needs to break down your collagen and elastin fibres around it.

So when you overindulge during Christmas and New Year and deposit fat in your tissues, you also get looser skin.

The combination of more fat and less looseness leads to saggy bottom, inner thighs, knee tops, belly, under-chin, jowl etc.

Plus it is responsible for cellulite on the thighs, bottom and other body areas.

Then, when it’s time to lose weight, as in during January detox, you may lose the fat but your are left with cellulite and loose skin, which does not completely return to its previous, firm state.

Hence the need for high-power monopolar radiofrequency, for those of course who care about skin looseness (skin looseness doesn’t kill after all)...

High power, monopolar radiofrequency is by far the strongest technology available today for skin tightening, cellulite removal and non-surgical bum lifting, as it works on both fat cells and connective tissue.

Certain natural actives, such as centella asiatica have been proven to both boost skin firmness and reduce cellulite.

Meso-CRF® Body combines 350 Watts of real, deep tissue, monopolar radiofrequency with the purest, most concentrated natural skin tightening and anti-cellulite actives known today, including centella asiatica of course, for maximum results, safely, effectively and naturally.

Meso-CRF® Body is exclusively available at LipoTherapeia in Chelsea with Georgios Tzenichristos - nowhere else.

Did you know that there are 28 types of collagen?

Collagen, skin tightening and skin regeneration

At least four collagens (I, III, IV and VI) are important for skincare and beauty. Each of them is found in higher or lower quantities on different skin layers and has a different function.

For example collagen type I gives the dermis its tensile strength and tightness, while collagen type III forms a mesh-like structure on top of which collagen type I can attach. All collagens are equally important, as they have a different but essential function.

With its combination of high purity, targeted actives and high intensity, targeted radiofrequency, Meso-CRF® can focus on different types of collagen and different skin layers, for maximum results with skin tightening and natural anti-ageing.

All without needles, pain, bruises, injections and drama.

Have you ever heard of glycation?

Glycation is a major cause of skin aging

Probably not, although you should, as it is a major cause of skin and blood vessel ageing.

Glycation is the damage that sugar molecules cause to proteins such as collagen. The end result is collagen fibre deterioration and inflammation, which manifests as skin looseness, wrinkles and as a grey, dull skin complexion.

Major causes of glycation are sugary foods, excess carbs, over-grilled/fried food and smoking.

You can reduce glycation by reducing smoking and the consumption of those foods. The aminoacid carnosine, as well as most herbs and vegetables help with glycation prevention - and sometimes even reduction.

Meso-CRF® Facial utilises an advanced form of carnosine, proven to break down glycation. Plus it’s high intensity radiofrequency boosts circulation and skin metabolism and therefore damaged collagen replacement. And of course it lifts and tightens the skin.

If caffeine is used in anti-cellulite creams, why doesn’t drinking coffee help me lose weight?

Caffeine, weight loss and orange skin peel / cellulite

This is one of the most common questions I hear from clients, who are confused by half-knowledge and misinformation spread by beauty media.

Caffeine in creams works by stimulating the release of fat out of fat cells in stubborn areas. Fat molecules leave stubborn fat cells and enter blood circulation to be burned for energy with diet & exercise (d&e). If they don’t get burned, they get redeposited in some fat cells somewhere else in the body.

So caffeine creams do not magically combust fat molecules, they shift them onto the bloodstream to be oxidised (“burned”) for energy in muscles and organs.

Now imagine if you drank 10 cups of coffee. Indeed fat cells all over your body would release more fat molecules into the blood circulation, to be burned by d&e. Without d&e all these fat molecules would simply return to fat cells. Quite pointless, right?

But then again, d&e on its own helps you release fat anyway, so you don’t need caffeine for that. This is why caffeine consumption does not work for fat loss.

Or to be precise, it helps a tiny bit, something like 3% more, but you pay for it with jitters, anxiety, insomnia, exhaustion etc. Not worth it. Just diet & exercise instead and you will be fine. And put some good cellulite cream on your legs, or have a good cellulite treatment, to release more fat from a specific stubborn area. Simple!

How often can I have facial skin tightening treatments?

Non-surgical facial skin tightening radiofrequency treatments

The strongest {SAFE} skin tightening technology known today is high-intensity monopolar radiofrequency.

  • As the name suggests, this is quite intense so it should not be provided more often than twice a week.

  • This is because you need to allow skin to recover for at least two days between sessions.

  • Once a week is perfect.

  • And once in two weeks is the maximum gap between sessions, if you want continuous improvement.

  • Treatments once a month or once in two months are more for maintenance than improvement.

Meso-CRF® Body and Meso-CRF® Facial utilise the most concentrated and purest natural actives available today with the strongest and safest monopolar radiofrequency technology, for a combined action on firmness and elasticity, for tighter, more lifted skin.

How many facial skin tightening sessions should I have?

How many facial skin tightening sessions should I have?

As I mentioned in previous posts, high-intensity monopolar radiofrequency is the best non-surgical skin tightening / lifting technology available today.

Each time you have a treatment, your skin contracts a little - plus your body is stimulated to produce more collagen and elastin in the future, making skin firmer, more lifted and more elastic.

One session will only produce a temporary result, despite what some deluded charlatans who sell one-session miracles claim, supported by fake before and after pictures (sorry, but I have no respect for fraudsters).

Treatments repeated weekly will produce cumulative, long-term results. Six are great for more women, while twelve are ideal. Three sessions is the minimum number of treatments suggested.

In the end it all comes down to two things: how loose and thin the skin is to begin with; and how perfectionist you are. The more sessions the better, with the only limitation being budget and time. The more you do, the more skin gets firmer and more lifted. Simple.

I have clients with a lot of skin ageing/loosening who are content with just 3-6 sessions. But also perfectionist ones who go beyond the typical twelve sessions recommended - because they want the absolute best and can afford it.

Here I have to remind that you cannot have amazing results in a few sessions, despite how strong the treatment is. This is because if you raise the intensity above a certain level, you will just cause injury - not improvement.

The advice is, find the strongest {SAFE} radiofrequency treatment and have more sessions of it, rather than believe the marketing BS that one or two super-painful sessions are enough.

Skin tightening vs. skin lifting | Skin firmness vs. skin elasticity

Skin tightening / lifting

What is the difference between skin tightening and skin lifting? And what about between skin firmness and skin elasticity?

Skin lifting is the same as skin tightening. The only way to lift the skin, i.e. fight the downward pull of gravity, is to tighten it. Tighter skin visibly resists the effects of gravity. Loose skin allows it to droop down - the opposite of lifting. Simple.

Now, skin firmness refers to more and shorter collagen fibres that make skin more taut. Collagen is equivalent to cotton on a pair of stretchy jeans.

On the other hand, elastin is the equivalent of elastane/lycra on that pair of jeans. It offers the skin bounce and elasticity.

The combination of collagen and elastin keeps skin firm and elastic, firm and soft at the same time 😊

Get the facts and book an expert skin tightening treatment at www.lipotherapeia.com.

Meso-CRF® Body and Meso-CRF® Facial utilise the most concentrated and purest natural actives available today with the strongest and safest monopolar radiofrequency technology, for a combined action on firmness and elasticity, for tighter, more lifted skin.

What does skin tightening mean? How does skin tightening happen?

What is skin tightening and how does it happen?

Skin tightening refers the contraction of the collagen network that makes up the skin. This makes skin shorter and tighter.

It also refers to the increased production of collagen in the skin. This makes skin feel firmer, richer and thicker.

Skin tightening also refers to increased elastin production, which bestows the skin’s collagen network with bounce and elasticity (hyaluronic acid also offers a certain degree of bounce and cushioning to skin).

It also refers to the replacement of soft and mushy fat tissue in the dermis and hypodermis with firmness-giving collagen.

Additionally, skin tightening entails the good adherence of the epidermis (superficial skin layer) onto the dermis (middle skin layer).

Finally, skin tightening entails the strengthening of the collagen fibres that anchor the dermis (middle skin layer) onto the hypodermis (deeper skin layer).

High-power monopolar radiofrequency, as well as several natural actives, have been found by research to affect one or more aspects of skin tightening, naturally and without surgery.

Meso-CRF® Body and Meso-CRF® Facial utilise the most concentrated and purest natural actives available today with the strongest and safest monopolar radiofrequency technology, for a combined action on all six aspects of skin tightening.

Too much exfoliation?

Too much exfoliation?

Chemical peels, microdermabrasion, dermablading, laser ablation, the list goes on and on. There are way too many methods to remove either the upper layers of, or the entire, epidermis, in order to restore ”skin glow” and vitality.

Indeed, well spaced apart exfoliation can rejuvenate the skin, however these days it is overdone and is used as an easy solution for fast results at salons/clinics.

The problem is that too much exfoliation is detrimental to skin health and leads to skin sensitivity and allergies. That’s why almost every woman these days claims that she has sensitive skin.

The fact is that the epidermis is there for a reason: to protect the skin from pollution, allergens, irritants, dehydration, microorganisms, UV and all sorts of chemicals (including those found in make up and other toiletries).

If you repeatedly damage your protection shield in order to enjoy some short-lived “glow”, you will suffer the consequences in the end.

So use mild exfoliation sparingly and epidermis removal (i.e. laser skin ablation, chemical peels) extremely rarely, if you do not want to be part of the sensitive skin epidemic.

Furthermore, don’t get fixated on the epidermis, when all the lifting and tightening occurs at the dermis and hypodermis level, for which exfoliation does absolutely nothing. The epidermis is important for beauty, but the dermis and hypodermis are equally - if not more - important.

Do home use radiofrequency machines work for skin tightening?

Home-use radiofrequency for skin tightening?

Sure, for the people that sell them they do. For anyone else, they don’t. And let me explain why.

For a radiofrequency treatment to work it needs to be very strong and needs to be handled with someone fully trained and experienced. This is why low power RF treatments are a waste of time. I have personally bought a £15k machine and gave it back because it wasn’t strong enough.

Now give a super powerful machine to someone totally untrained AND totally obsessed with looking better yesterday, as is the case with most people, and you have a recipe for disaster.

If such machines were allowed to be sold to the general public, there would be injuries followed by lawsuits against the manufacturers in no time. Hence these machines are quite rightly NOT allowed to be sold to the public.

Furthermore, a good RF machine weighs 30, 40, 50 kilos and costs £20k-£70k. It is not what you would call home use.

So people are left to buy the £300 toy machines that achieve nothing, even if you use them everyday. Or they end up buying cheap and dangerous Chinese stuff on eBay. Good luck with that, literally.

Moral of the story, I would NEVER buy a home use RF machine, for both efficacy and safety reasons.

Why do you insist that monopolar radiofrequency is the best body skin tightening method?

Monopolar radiofrequency for skin tightening

There are only three skin tightening methods worth talking about: surgery, monopolar radiofrequency and high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). Any other method is simply pointless for skin tightening.

Surgery is not applicable in all but the most severe cases, due to the unsightly scars, but for those extreme cases it is the only option indeed.

HIFU at high intensities is very painful, can cause burn/injury and is based on burning the dermis and causing scar tissue, which leads to poor quality collagen. This burning is euphemistically called “coagulation” by manufacturers of such machines, but no matter how you present it, burning is burning. Thereby it can be called a “scar tissue-ing”/“skin hardening” treatment, rather than a “skin tightening” treatment. In some cases skin doesn’t even react to the burns, leading to “cigarette paper” thin skin instead. [Lower intensities of HIFU have minimal effect and are thereby ineffective.]

Exactly the same thing as high intensity HIFU occurs with “destructive” radiofrequency (of course it is not called like that commercially), which is also based on tissue burning / “coagulation”. Fortunately there is only one, extremely expensive, radiofrequency treatment that is based on this methodology…

Monopolar radiofrequency, on the other hand, works by stimulating collagen contraction and production, and in the hands of a well trained practitioner is 99.5% safe. It is not an instant miracle but it is the absolutely best skin tightening method available today, providing great results with a course of 6-12 treatments.

Lasers, infrared radiation and bipolar radiofrequency are too superficial to really work on the body (they are “kinda ok” for the face - that is material for another post). G5 massage causes thread veins. Vacuum rolling (palper-rouller) massage causes skin loosening and thread veins, while manual massage, “acoustic wave therapy”, microcurrents and electrical muscle stimulation are not really worth mentioning for body skin tightening.

What is radiofrequency and how does it work for skin tightening and lifting?

What is radiofrequency and how does it work for skin tightening and lifting?

Radiofrequency is simply high frequency electricity. Such electrical currents heat up the skin, deeply or superficially, depending on the machine and protocols used, to stimulate collagen contraction, collagen synthesis and collagen cell proliferation.

There are several types of radiofrequency. Bipolar RF is very superficial, while monopolar can be deeper. Resistive RF is also deeper while capacitive is more superficial. And low power is practically useless and medium power just about usable, with high power RF (above 250 Watts at least) being the only real option for professional results.

As you may have guessed, most machines are bipolar, capacitive and low/medium power, hence the need for fake “before and after photos” on the part of some practitioners who use such machines...

Of course, operator knowledge/experience and active ingredients in the products used for the application of the treatment are equally important [Note: in 95% of the cases treatment products are inert and contain no active ingredients - they are just used for gliding or conductance].

Meso-CRF® Body utilises 350 Watts of monopolar radiofrequency plus multiple high purity natural actives in high concentration for maximum results, safely and naturally.

So I got a client the other day who has been to all sorts of different clinics that promise miracles and who told me “I have wasted enough money on treatments that are too weak to work and now I want to have a real, strong treatment that works. I don’t have more time or money to waste.”

And this is what happens when certain impossible types promise “body transformations in one session”, “results after your one and only session keep getting better for months” and “helping people boost their body confidence” with said miracle treatments.

It backfires and it doesn’t backfire only on those unscrupulous practitioners, it backfires on all of us. And sorry, delusion of instant results does not boost anyone’s confidence, it leads to cynicism and disappointment. I have seen it happening so many times in the last 20 years in my industry.

To those practitioners I have to say: “Guys don’t do it, have some self respect and respect your clients too, don’t upload blatantly fake before and after pictures and don’t promise instant miracles to naive / vulnerable / insecure women”.

And to clients I have to say: “If it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true, regardless of what silly C-list celebrity endorses a treatment. C-list celebrities can not bend the laws of biology or physics”.

Even with the strongest technology available today, for cellulite reduction and skin tightening I typically recommend 6-12 sessions - in extreme cases even more. And I explain that the first long term results are seen within a few weeks and after 3-4 sessions. Everything else is disingenuous.

“How often can I have radiofrequency treatments for skin tightening / cellulite / non-surgical bum lifting?”

Radiofrequency treatment for skin tightening / cellulite / non-surgical bum lifting

For improvement I recommend treatment once a or twice a week, for 6-12 sessions for maximum results, depending on each individual case.

Treatment three times a week is also possible if you only have limited time, but this will mean that treatment intensity has to be a bit lower. This will give you results faster, due to you having more sessions per week, but it will also offer a bit less value for money per session.

Treatment once in two weeks is also fine, but it obviously returns results more slowly.

Finally, treatment once a month or once in two months is used for maintenance, rather than for improvement.

Tighter, smoother, more lifted skin is what you should expect from a strong, deep, monopolar radiofrequency treatment, such as Meso-CRF® Body.

Collagen cells, skin tightening and "body transformations with one session

Collagen cells / fibroblasts

Modern art? Nah, these are collagen cells, the stuff that make your skin on your face and thighs firm and elastic :)

When we talk about non-surgical skin tightening / lifting we mean three things: new collagen production, more collagen cells and contraction/shortening of existing collagen tissue.

New collagen production and more collagen cells do not take one or two treatments to occur, they take several sessions, over several weeks.

Some immediate but temporary collagen contraction may happen in one session, which gives ammunition to smooth operators to promise amazing results in one session.

So all you get in one or two sessions is some temporary collagen contraction, which some smooth operators use to convince you that you have just had a miraculous instant lift and that will “keep getting better in the next four months”.

The fact is that nothing happens after four months, if you only receive one or two sessions. You revert to where you started. So don’t fall for the smooth operators.

Even with the strongest and smartest technology in the world, and with the most concentrated skin products, a course of 6x weekly sessions, as a minimum, or 12x sessions, as a maximum, is needed for good results in most cases. That’s when you indeed keep improving for months.

At LipoTherapeia you get exactly that: the strongest and deepest acting radiofrequency treatment available today (350 Watts of monopolar radiofrequency), the most concentrated skin tightening/cellulite products, plus science-based, responsible, honest advice, with no hype or exaggeration.

Fat cells, cellulite removal and "body transformations" in one session

Fat cells vs collagen cells

Enlarged fat cells, the most important aspect of cellulite, do not take one or two treatments to be reduced in size or in numbers. They take several sessions, over several weeks.

Even with the strongest and smartest technology in the world - and with the most concentrated skin products - a course of 6x sessions, as a minimum, or 12x sessions, as a maximum, is needed for good results.

So if someone promises you a “body transformation” in one or two sessions, with “results keep getting better in the next four months” after that solitary session, they are either clueless, delusional, lying or all of the above. Nothing happens after four months if you only have one or two sessions, regardless of what C-list celebrities say. Don’t fall for the smooth operators.

What is needed is repeated stimulation with a strong, deep-acting treatment, every week for 6-12 weeks, as an average.

At LipoTherapeia you get exactly that: the strongest radiofrequency treatment available today (350 Watts of monopolar radiofrequency), the most concentrated skin tightening/cellulite products, plus science-based, honest advice with no hype or exaggeration.
