How Meso-CRF works:
- Low frequency ultrasound disrupts fat cell membranes by an effect caused cavitation (creation and implosion of gas bubbles inside the adipocytes) and stimulates the release of fat from adipocytes. Adipocytes being the weakest types of cells are damaged, whilst other cells, such as fibroblasts, stay intact and actually benefit from the stimulus provided by ultrasound. Ultrasound cavitation has been used for several years in Italy (known as “cavitazione con ultrasuoni”), and Italian women swear by it’s effectiveness - provided that the right intensity is used (~100 Watts).
- Monopolar radiofrequency electrical currents at a frequency of 300 kHz~1 MHz preferentially and intensively heat the subdermis to literally shrink the existing collagen fibre network (thereby causing an instant skin tightening/lifting effect). In addition, collagen and elastin fibre production by fibroblasts is stimulated (thereby causing a delayed skin tightening/lifting effect), and fat is released by adipocytes. Superficial cooling ensures client comfort and safety by keeping epidermis temperatures low. An intensity of 350 Watts is required for best results.
- Both ultrasound and radiofrequency currents enhance the absorption of active ingredients through the skin and into the fat and collagen cells. These effects are known as sonophoresis and electrophoresis, respectively.
