How radiofrequency tightens, lifts, rejuvenates the skin of the face (and optionally removes facial fat)

High-power, monopolar radiofrequency treatment is the most effective technology for skin tightening and non-surgical face lifting (much more effective in this regard than any laser treatment). It often provides immediate results - if the right equipment is used, and especially if it is simultaneously combined with no-needle mesotherapy.

High-power (~350 Watts), monopolar radiofrequency currents preferentially and intensively heat the subdermis (where the fibroblasts are located), exerting a two-fold tightening effect on the skin of the face. Specifically, these currents:

  • Immediately shorten the existing collagen fibres, thereby offering an immediate skin tightening and lifting effect. This effect is experience during or right after treatment.
  • Stimulate the fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin fibres, thereby offering an added, more delayed skin tightening effect. This effect is experienced the day after or the following day after treatment.
  • In addition, and depending on the frequency utilised, radiofrequency treatment can be used to offer an optional sculpting (fat reducing) effect, for women with excess fat on the cheeks, jowl and under chin. This is because specific RF frequencies affect the fat cells (adipocytes), stimulating them to release fat into the bloodstream and physically damaging a number of them (adipocytes are very “fragile” cells, in comparison to fibroblasts or other tissue cells). The use of a fat reduction gel further enhances the sculpting effect of the treatment.

The skin tightening effects of RF are very long-lasting, simply because they are based on new connective tissue growth. This new tissue stays in the body for a long period of time and can only be “lost” due to severe inactivity. The fat reduction effects of RF are also long-lasting if the person follows a healthy diet and exercise regime (fat is always redeposited again into the tissues if you overeat, binge-drink and/or stay very inactive).

Most radiofrequency treatments do not offer significant results with regard to face lifting, skin tightening or fat sculpting, because most of the RF equipment found in beauty salons and clinics in London is simply inadequate.   • High power radiofrequency settings (350 Watts) that allow us to provide maximum RF treatment at the minimum possible treatment time, thereby saving you time and money and offering you great results. Many face RF machines offer as little as 35 Watts of power, which for all practical purposes is useless.
  • Monopolar RF penetrates deep, at exactly the right layer inside the skin (subcutis/subdermis) where the connective tissue network is located. This allows us to offer deep skin tightening that can lead to lifting. In contrast, unipolar, bipolar, tripolar, tetrapolar (quadripolar) and octapolar RF currents heat the epidermis more than the subdermis, i.e. the wrong layer of the skin. Epidermal tightening does not lead to skin lifting because the epidermis is very thin and it's collagen structure is not strong enough for that purpose (in fact, our machine offers bipolar function, but we never use it). This is the main reason why many women who try radiofrequency anti-cellulite treatments get disappointed: because they try the wrong treatment.
  • We make the most of our radiofrequency treatment with our two exclusive radiforequency treatment gels, each containing 20 natural active ingredients for a firmer and more youthful skin appearance.
